British Virgin Islands strengthens tourism ties with P. R.
The British Virgin Islands continues to build on already strong ties with the Puerto Rico community, which maintains the spot as the second largest market for the BVI preceded only by the U.S.market.

And developments are underway to keep the neighbor island destination “ahead of the curve in the rapidly changing tourism landscape, a BVI government head official said Wednesday.

Mainsail Devl Group sales for BVI project exceed 75% in only 9 months!
In development on the unspoiled 230-acre tropical paradise of Scrub Island in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), Mainsail Resort Spa & Marina has sold more than 75 percent of its island resort inventory. Mainsail’s 59 suites, villas and residences have only been available for purchase since March of 2005, and, with sales ahead of schedule, are expected to be sold out by June 2006. The first development major development in BVI in more than 20 years, Mainsail broke ground in October and anticipates completion of the entire project in the fall of 2007.

Mainsail Development Group, Inc., in conjunction with Scrub Island Development Group, is developing the $65 million Mainsail project. A unique and exclusive vacation investment opportunity, the island development will include a boutique hotel, world-class spa, 60-slip marina, and luxurious residences and estates. Ocean View Villas and Long View Residences are still available for purchase, but the island’s Marina Village Suites are sold out.

Priced at $2.2 million, the fully-furnished Ocean View Villas feature two master suites, each with a large bath and separate sitting area, all within a well-designed 1,950 square feet of space. The Villas will bring the outdoors in, with an additional 1,200-square-foot terrace with private plunge pools and sweeping views of Great Camenoe Island. The Long View Residences range in price from $2.9 to $3.9 million and are available in three- to five-bedroom are three-five bedroom designs with approximately 4,500 to 6,000 square feet of living space. These luxurious, multi-level homes will feature a large bedroom on the first level, which opens onto a covered terrace, separate dressing area and bath. The main level includes a large kitchen with eat-in bar, separate dining room and a large living room that opens onto a paved terrace with an infinity-edge pool. The master suite includes a large bath and separate sitting area and opens onto a private outdoor terrace.

Each villa, suite, and residence will be a wholly- and privately-owned asset. Unlike timeshare or fractional ownership arrangements, owners who choose to have their property maintained and rented by the professional resort management team will receive a share of rental revenues from all the units. Owners who choose to participate in the rental program will also receive two months use of their unit each year. Apart from the main resort development, 54 private estate lots are also available for purchase on the island.

NYPD Pizza Restaurant announces new location in East Orlando!

Mona Deane joins Mainsail Development Group
Mainsail Development Group, LLC, announces today that Mona Deane has joined its Orlando office as Senior Property Manager.

Deane has managed a Mainsail property for the past two years as a third party service provider. Blaine Strickland, Partner with Mainsail, stated “We’re extremely pleased to bring Mona in-house so that we can capture all of her time and expertise. Our projects now demand the full attention of a seasoned pro.”

Mona Deane formerly held property management positions with CB Richard Ellis, Lincoln Property Company and Realty Capital Advisors. She is on the Board of Directors of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and has been active in the Orlando market for more than 15 years.

J. David Peppers joins Mainsail Development Group
Mainsail Development Group, LLC, announces today that J. David Peppers has joined its Orlando office as Senior Vice President of Design & Construction.

Peppers has worked with Mainsail on several projects as a private consultant over the past few years. Dave Peppers is a graduate of the University of Florida, trained in landscape architecture and land planning. He was a senior project manager for several years with Post Buckley Schuh & Jernigan in Orlando, and through his own consulting firm has worked on commercial, residential and themed entertainment projects all over the world for both corporate and individual clients. Dave is also a veteran of the United States Navy.

Alafaya Village Announces 23,000 Square Feet In New Leases
Mainsail Development Group, LLC, announces today the signing of 5 new leases at Alafaya Village that total more than 23,000 square feet. Mainsail acts as the exclusive leasing and managing agent for Alafaya Village, a 51,000 square foot office / retail park on South Alafaya Trail in east Orlando.

Stoneybrook Marketplace now under construction
Mainsail Development Group, LLC, announces today the groundbreaking for their newest project, Stoneybrook Marketplace. The project is a 35,000 square foot, office / retail plaza located on South Alafaya Trail in East Orlando across from the main entrance to Stoneybrook. Consumer spending, leading index post solid gains in November
Consumers’ spending and incomes posted solid gains in November, giving retailers hopes for decent Christmas sales, while a key economic forecasting gauge flashed encouraging signals for 2006.
The Commerce Department reported Thursday that personal incomes rose 0.3 percent in November and were up an even bigger 0.7 percent when inflation was removed. It was the best inflation-adjusted showing since July,when sales surged as consumers responded to attractive auto sales incentives.
